Para quem nao segue o blog á mais de um ano...

Como muitas de vós sabem, comecei a fazer o redwork há já quase dois anos -- perdi conta do tempo... se calhar foi há mais tempo.  E na altura coloquei fotos do trabalho feito.  Aqui podem ver novamente as fotos do trabalho (para as que não conhecem) e fotos de alguns passos para chegar ao topo acabado. (falta quiltar mas isso fica para outro dia).

As most of you know, I started this redwork quite some time ago -- lost track of time -- maybe it was two years ago maybe longer.  At that time I posted pictures of the finished quilt top.  Here, you can see again the pictures of the work (for those of you that have not followed the blog) and some of the steps to get to this point.  Okay, I still need to get this quilted, but that is ANOTHER story...

Fui ver as datas das fotos e pelos vistos passou mesmo algum tempinho - esta foi tirada em AGOSTO de 2010...

I took a look at the photo info and found out that this picture (finished quilt top) was taken in AUGUST of 2010.  I was not too off on the date.

E esta foi tirada em Outubro de 2009... Para ter estes bordados todos já como vêem, teve que ser iniciado pelo menos um anos antes.  O tempo passa mesmo a correr

This one was taken in OCTOBER of 2009.  To get tho this point it must have been almost one year - at least. So I must have started this about 2008.  Time flyes.

acho que olhei para isto tudo durante horas e horas... Penso que foi mais DIAS do que horas...

I looked at this for hours and hours... Pretty sure it was DAYS and not hours.

Entretanto decidi iniciar.  E, não foi difícil.  Quando comecei a unir os tecidos, decidi (depois dos 3 primeiros) que seria mais fácil fazer com que TODOS os blocos de uma forma ou outra acabassem por ficar com pelo menos um lado (altura ou largura) com uma de 3 medidas.. no meu caso escolhi 8, 9 e 10 polegadas.  Assim, quando os uni conseguia fazer tiras em altura ou largura.

Finally decided to start.  And, it was not hard.  When I started to sew together the fabrics, I decided (after about 3 blocks) that it would be easier if ALL the blocks added up to one of three sizes at least on ONE side.  This would make it easier to sew rows and to put them all together later on.

NOTA:  Pode ter reparado nas letras e outros detalhes - As letras são as inicias dos meus filhos e a minha.  Algumas das 'meninas' tem o nome das minhas filhas bordado, e de resto todos os blocos tem alguma coisa haver com gostos pessoais (costura, filhos, historia/vida)

 Here I had a few done already.

NOTE:  You may have noticed letters and names throughout the quilt.  The letters are my children's initials and my own.  Then there are my daughter's name in a few places (not obvious) and then other blocks just have to do with my life and personal tastes...

Um belo dia a caminho do workshop no Porto, estava um bocadinho frio, e usei a manta para cobrir o Daniel que como quase todas sabem, dorme em qualquer lado e de qualquer maneira... desta vez ia mais aconchegado.

One upon a Day on the way to PORTO do do a workshop, while it was quite cold outside, I used my quilt to cover my son so I used the quilt (all that was at hand) to cover Dan, as most of you know - he sleeps anywhere and anytime, Oh, and ANYHOW.  This time a little cozier.
