Olhem os peixinhos da Marina -- Anda inspirada... fez tudo sem ajuda. Mais um quilt para a cama dos netos... // Just look at all of Aldina's fishies. -- She's been inspired... Did all this with no help. Another quilt for the grandchildren's bed. :)

Aldina... olha aqui...

Adorei o quilt da Aldina. Quando andava a arrumar algumas gavestas de tecidos (em casa) encontrei um (dos muitos) saco de fat quarters que guardo a anos (neste caso, mais de 10 anos)... Gosto tanto de alguns tecidos, que guardo-os em vez de os usar... parvinha!. De qualquer modo, quando encontrei este saquinho com 24 fat quarters lembrei-me do quilt da Aldina. Foi facil de fazer, relativa mente rápido e ficou engraçado. Claro, agora vai levar ANOS ate empastar e quiltar, mas em fim... o TOP esta feito. quer dizer, ainda falta o border. O projecto seguinte e um que esta a ser feito em parte com a madrinha da minha filha Inês... a Madrinha anda a quase 7 anos a bordar em ponto cruz bonequinhos do PRECIOUS MOMENTS para eu fazer o quilt, o problema e que nao pensamos no modelo de quilt nem num tamanho certo para os bonequinhos... então tem sido difícil encontrar um modelo em que pudesse enquadrar os bordados que não fosse só quadrados... Por em quanto esta só cortado...

A Noemia esta acabar um Rail Fence de bebe para oferecer, a Sofia ja so faltam mais 40 blocos de log-cabin... :) E, na ultima foto a Paula e Noemia estao a por a conversa em dia. A Paula esta a comecar um scrappy bargello ...

Here is Angela's runner with KAFFEE FASSETT's fabrics, and my mother's (Dna. Manuela) FIRST EVER FINISHED QUILT (okay, runner)... but, believe it or not, this IS an accomplishment... a HUGE accomplishment.

1.... 2... 3... QUILTS IN ONE WEEK

3 numa semana nao e nada mau... Agora vamos ver quanto tempa leva para quiltar... :) // Three in one week is not bad... Now, let's see how long it will take to quilt. :)

ALDINA'S RAINBOW

Yup... she's been busy. This quilt used 19 fat quarters and some black. It's beautiful for any bed, be it adult or child... I have a weak spot for rainbows. Lots of quilting ahead... Note: Aldina, still in time to give it to me for Christmas. // SIM, a Aldina tem ando ocupada. Este quilt usou 19 'fat quarters' e tecido preto. Fica lindo em qualquer cama, seja ela de adulto ou crianca. Tenho um fraquinho pelo arco-iris. NOTA: Aldina, ainda vais a tempo para me ofereceres este pelo natal. :)

Another nice Job by ALDINA

Just look at the great job Aldina (Link on the right) did on ONE of her recent creations... Almost looks like a puzzle. :) // Olhem so o lindo trabalho feito pela Aldina (Link do lado direito do blog)... Quase que parece um quebra-cabecas. LINDO, LINDO, LINDO.

FINALLY FINISHED ONE....

Olhem a diferenca que o 'border' pode fazer... O meio e o mesmo, mas mudando as barras e fica completamente diferente. Agora, olhem bem quem fez este 'runner'... Sim! Foi mesmo! A Dna. Manuela finalmente acabou um trabalho. Verdade! Acabou mesmo! // Look at the diference a border makes... The middle is the same the only change is the border and they look completelly dif. Now, look at who made this runner... YES!! Really! Dna. Manuela FINALLY finished a quilt. REALLY! She REALLY finished it! >>>>>>>

My new toy & and the 'ugly' quilt

I just can't get to liking this quilt.... On this picture, the STAR was all quilted already, and ladies, I will NEVER be a Jenny Bowker, but it's better than I would have EVEN TRIED two months ago. Yesterday I quilted some feathers (they are supposed to be feathers, but I'm not exactly sure if there is a name for what they look like yet). I have not taken pictures of those.

The little sewing machine I purchased in the antique fair in Belem yesterday... Have wanted on of these for years and never did because they are always in the 100s... but the lady that sold it to me had NO CLUE of its' worth... (kind of felt like I was robbing the lady)

The Chita quilt...

I like this one... I am really surprised at how well it came out and how EASY it was to put together. This is only the top, and I'm still thinking of adding a green border and eventually a 'terra cotta' binding. No clue what the back is going to be like, but since I have about 6-8 block sets left, I'm going to try to incorpporate them in. :) Thanks Jackie for the PUSH... :) The last picture, well I just liked the quilt as a backdrop to the fat quarter basket. :)

This quilt was made by Ursula ou of flannels. The color combination worked out well. :)

Anabela's quilts

Two of Anabela's quilts... She was in the store to pick out binding ... On the WINDOW we went with a dark burgandy, and on the RAIL FENCE we went with the lime green to lighten it up a bit. Both really nice.

BLOCOS DE CHITA

Depois de ver o trabalho da Jackie (POST anterior), fiquei inspirada... Esta chita, por exemplo, nao e das mais bonitas, mas depois de cortada e colocada em forma de moilhos-de-vento, ficou LINDA... Ainda estou a tentar decidir que cor usar nas barras, pois o tecido tem bordoux, azul e verde seco... O bordoux nao fica mal. Um trabalho destes da uma nova vida as Chitas de Alcobaca. :) // After seeing Jackie's work (earlier POST), I was inspired... This chita, for example, was not at all one of the nicer ones, but after cut and sewn in the form of windmills, it came out very NICE... I'm not sure what the border colors will end up, trying to decide... The blocks have burgandy, blue and green, I think I'm going to go with the Burgandy. A quilt like this gives new life to the Chitas de Alcobaca.

Mais uma Principiante...

Ate hoje, so duas pessoas usaram os mesmos tecidos no runner (este nao e o caso). Todos tem saido LINDOS e unicos, claro. Como este trabalho involve costuras curtas, a Angela gosta de usar como PRIMEIRO trabalho para as senhoras que nao costuram a maquina. So que, MUITAS acabam por coser a maquina.

THE BLUE LADY

The 'Blue Lady' pieced her work together by hand... but for the larger pieces, she gave in and used one of our Bernettes. It took a while to choose the BLUEs, but it came out surprisingly well // A Blue Lady comecou a unir á mão, mas não resisteiu e acabou por unir os pedaços maiores numa das nossas Bernettes. Demorou a escolher os azuis, mas o trabalho saiu surpriendentemente bem.
