Blocos da Anabela (Feijo)

Estive a ajudar a Anabela a cortar estes blocos dos panos das rosas... ficaram todos lindos. Mal posso esperar pelos outros que a Anabela ficou de coser ate sexta-feira. :) // I helped Anabela cut these blocks from Rose Pillow Panels, they came out beautiful. Can hardly wait until Anabela brings all the sewn blocks by friday for the next step. :)

Some of the colors we dyed this Sunday...

Just look how bright they came out. Anabela, unknowingly, used a cotton 'BLEND' fabric and her colors came out lighter (see them in the far back /top of picture), but still VERY beautiful... Her's came out more PASTEL. Be careful when someone says it's 100% cotton... it may not be.

As cores da Anabela sairam mais clarinhas... PASTEL... porque venderam-lhe tecido como sendo 100% algodao, e aparentemente tinha alguma mistura. De qualquer modo, as cores ficaram igualmente LINDAS. Tenham cuidado quando compram, conven ser uma loja de confianca. :)

Rinsing out the fabrics made for a whole new rainbow... I really do have a weak spot for color!!! I could not stop with the OHHHHHHs and AAAhhhhhss .


Anabela hanging her fabrics up to dry... it was a tad windy so they dried pretty fast.

DNa. MANUELA'S SECRET

My mother's secret... she's been working on this all week... I suspect day and night. She's always in a hurry to get home so that she can make a few more log cabin blocks... I think she missed the 'senior dance' today just so she could work on the quilt. She doesn't want anyone to see it until it's finished (luckily, she doesn't know how to use the computer or the internet). :) By the way, she needs a volunteer for the quilting ... she has no intentions of doing anything other than the quilt top. /// O segredo da minha mae.. Tem andado a trabalhar neste quilt toda a semana. Suspeito que dia e noite. Anda sempre com pressa de ir para casa para fazer mais uns blocos de log cabin. Penso que perdeu o 'baile' de domingo para poder trabalhar no quilt. Ela nao quer que ninguem veja o quilt ate estar acabado. Felizemente nao sabe usar o computador nem a interenet. :) Precisa de uma veluntaria para fazer o quilting, so quer fazer o quilt top.

AULA DAS BONECAS -- DESTE VEZ FOI O GATINHO

Everyone loved the kittens... they didn't take long to finish and are very cute, even Sofia and Ines finished one each. Congratulation Sofia (yellow cat), it was the first time she sewed by hand.:) // Todos gostaram dos catinhos... Nao levaram muito tempo a fazer, e nao sao dificeis. Parambens SOFIA (gato amarelo)... pois foi a primeira vez que coseu a mao. :)

Awesome colors...

Another quilt from STACK N WACK... this book has some really great patterns for big, ugly, print fabrics... Not sure yet how I'm going to set them, but I'm sure they will come out beautiful.// Outro quilt do livro STACK N WACK... Este livro tem muitos moldes para uso de tecidos com padroes grandes e feios. Ainda nao sei como os vou unir, mas vai ficar lindo com certeza.

O quilt da Ines...

Here is a quilt that has been 'in-the-making' for about 7 years. My cousin (Ines' Godmother) has cross stitched all the precious moments figures, but since they were not all the same size, it has taken me a long time to figure out what pattern I was going to use... Well, finally decided on this one. This is only about 1/4 of the top, I will post more pictures as I work on it. :) // Este quilt esta para fazer a uns 7 anos. A minha prima (Madrinha da minha filha Ines) bordou os Precious Moments em ponto cruz, eu levei estes anos todos para decidir o feitio porque os bordados nao sao todos da mesma medida. Estas fotos sao de 1/4 do quilt. Mais tarde colocarei mais fotos do trabalho em progresso.

A Dorila esta pronta para quilting... Ao tentar pela PRIMEIRA vez o quilting... nao teve problema algum... // Dorila is ready for quilting.. she tried it for the first time and had no problem with it.

Este rail fense vai ser um saco... Acho que vai ficar lindo... // This rail fense is going to be a bag.

Esta aluna esta a fazer um lindo trabalho.. tudo isto numa aula. :) // This lady is doing a great job on her runner. All this in one class. :)

Olhem os peixinhos da Marina -- Anda inspirada... fez tudo sem ajuda. Mais um quilt para a cama dos netos... // Just look at all of Aldina's fishies. -- She's been inspired... Did all this with no help. Another quilt for the grandchildren's bed. :)

Aldina... olha aqui...

Adorei o quilt da Aldina. Quando andava a arrumar algumas gavestas de tecidos (em casa) encontrei um (dos muitos) saco de fat quarters que guardo a anos (neste caso, mais de 10 anos)... Gosto tanto de alguns tecidos, que guardo-os em vez de os usar... parvinha!. De qualquer modo, quando encontrei este saquinho com 24 fat quarters lembrei-me do quilt da Aldina. Foi facil de fazer, relativa mente rápido e ficou engraçado. Claro, agora vai levar ANOS ate empastar e quiltar, mas em fim... o TOP esta feito. quer dizer, ainda falta o border. O projecto seguinte e um que esta a ser feito em parte com a madrinha da minha filha Inês... a Madrinha anda a quase 7 anos a bordar em ponto cruz bonequinhos do PRECIOUS MOMENTS para eu fazer o quilt, o problema e que nao pensamos no modelo de quilt nem num tamanho certo para os bonequinhos... então tem sido difícil encontrar um modelo em que pudesse enquadrar os bordados que não fosse só quadrados... Por em quanto esta só cortado...

A Noemia esta acabar um Rail Fence de bebe para oferecer, a Sofia ja so faltam mais 40 blocos de log-cabin... :) E, na ultima foto a Paula e Noemia estao a por a conversa em dia. A Paula esta a comecar um scrappy bargello ...

Here is Angela's runner with KAFFEE FASSETT's fabrics, and my mother's (Dna. Manuela) FIRST EVER FINISHED QUILT (okay, runner)... but, believe it or not, this IS an accomplishment... a HUGE accomplishment.
